I just realized I hadn't posted about our trip to Washington DC in February.
My brother and his wife live in DC, so we took a weekend to visit them while Keith had training in the area.
Here's a summary of our weekend (Feb 19 - 22):
We got in late thursday night. My brother and his wife were wonderful! They live in an apartment so we had to try to keep the boys quiet - which was hard for Kory to understand.
Friday- the boys and I hung out while Keith was at training and our hosts worked. We rested, played xbox, etc. It was good. Friday night we ate in.
Saturday - Keith was back in training. My brother and his wife worked. When my sister-in-law got home from work, we headed to go pick up my brother to see where he works. Then we went to the DC mall area with the monuments. It was great because it let Kory run around to get off some extra energy. Then we went to Illy for coffee. It was amazing.
We all worked together to get the boys to bed that night and then us 4 adults had a nice supper of crab and salmon cakes. We ended the evening by chatting while listening to music.
On Sunday, we all slept in and then took our time getting ready. We ended up leaving around 1:30 to get home and settled. The trip is only about 3 hours - which isn't bad at all.
Oh this was kinda funny from the weekend (although at the time it wasn't):
On Friday night, Kory didn't sleep well at all. He kept on crying about his ear. I thought, great he has an ear infection because he would only rest when I was holding him. As we were trying to get him settled down, all I could think about was 1. The neighbors are not going to be happy with this crying. 2. I don't want to have to take him to the ER here in DC. 3. Maybe I can beg his doctor in PA to send a prescription to DC.
And of course, each time we got him settled down, Cade would cough and Kory would wake up or Kory would cough and Cade would wake up. At one point during the night, Kory even cried out twice, "I need a doctor."
The next morning, I looked at his ear and it was full of wax. So I cleaned them both out and he said "that is much better!" On that Saturday morning, he was determined to tell Uncle Josh that his ears hurt. But he had already left for work. What a night... :)
