I've had a lot of time to think this weekend while we have all been sick. And I decided to make a few changes. I've been feeling overwhelmed lately. Between being me, a wife, a mother, a writer, an editor, and an office manager. There never seems enough time in the day to get everything done.
So I have decided to make a few changes to make my life a little less overwhelmed.
My first goal... start taking Keith's dress shirts to a local drycleaner to launder and iron.
I know, ironing may sound like a simple thing. But for me it isn't. I hate to iron. I had a college friend who would always iron her jeans, and I just couldn't understand why.
If I leave my ironing board up, it just becomes a flat service to fill with other stuff.... like clothes that should be put away. Or the pile of clothes that should be ironed but never get ironed.
I figure if I take the shirts to get laundered and ironed, it will save me the frustration and time of ironing and it will make Keith much happier to open the closet door each morning and have all his shirts to choose from as he gets ready for work.
So that is goal number 1. I'll keep you posted on how it makes my life easier and how much it ends up costing me :)

It's me and my boys... a wonderful husband and two very active boys. My days are filled with super heroes, sports, video games, and time in the sandbox.

Update
Sorry it has been awhile since I last posted anything. It has been a crazy couple of weeks. Keith has been working tons of hours on a project at work. Then we headed to Virginia Beach for a wonderful weekend with Keith's family. My sisters-in-law gave me a very nice baby shower! Now I just have to figure out how to organize the nursery with the new things.
In the meantime, my brother, Josh, has also been living with us for a bit. It's nice to have him stay with us for a bit as he gets settled on the East Coast. We're excited for him and his fiancee, Sara, as we watch things fall into place for them.
And most recently we have battled a nastly flu bug. It started with Kory on Friday afternoon, made its way to me on Saturday and then to Keith on Sunday. It seems to take about 2 days to clear it out of our systems, and it isn't a very fun 2 days. But we are thankful to almost be all better and get out of the house soon! Five days inside is too many!
Hope you have a good day!
