Today Keith, Cade, and I went to Cade's appointment with a Pediatric Ophthalmologist. Our pediatrician recommended we see this eye doctor so they could make sure Cade's left eye developed properly with the port wine stain (the birth mark).
The doctor checked Cade's eye pressure, which was fine.
He also dilated Cade's eyes (after putting numbing drops in) to check his eye. And everything is fine there too!
The doctor said it was more of a "better safe than sorry" for having his eye checked.
He gave us a few things to watch for in case things change but he thinks all will be fine.
We go back in December for a follow-up appointment.
The next "big" appointment is with the pediatric dermatologist in November. Until then it is just the regular well visits.
It's me and my boys... a wonderful husband and two very active boys. My days are filled with super heroes, sports, video games, and time in the sandbox.

Cade's One Month Check Up
Hi. Cade had his one-month check up today. He is now 10 pounds (50 percentile) and 23 1/2 inches long (90 percentile). A good strong growing boy! He does have a small belly hernia around his belly button. The doctor said it should heal on its own. If it doesn't, they don't do anything about it until he is school aged. She did tell me a couple things to watch for though related to it.
Cade's next appointment is with the pediatric eye doctor on Friday. The eye doctor will check his eyes, especially his left eye to make sure it developed properly with the port wine stain.
Will keep you posted on how that goes!

Today's Dork Moment
I was such a dork this morning. For a little background... when I say the 4 of us.. I mean, Kory, Cade, Kory's friend Bradley who is with us right now, and myself.
And it is okay if you laugh at this dork moment :) I did!
We (the 4 of us) ran out to the bank this morning. I went through the drive thru. I sent my deposit in the plastic container thing without a problem. But the troubles began when the teller sent it back.
I got the container out, got my receipt and went to put it back in. But I missed the thing and dropped the container. Then I didn't have room to open the car door and get it. So I slowly moved forward. And yes, I ran over the container.
I then pulled far enough ahead to open the door. Got out, picked it up, and put it back on the thing that shoots it up. Of course it was crunched on one side. And of course, I was in grubby clothes. Then I felt really bad because someone pulled up behind me to use that drive thru line.
I'm sure the tellers and other cars were all getting a good laugh. I guess I should have pushed the "talk" button to apologize. But I just wanted to get out of there! :)
I reminded myself of the commercial with the little boy who sends all the pens through and they shoot at the guy :) Oh well. Hope they don't deduct the cost from my account :)
