It's Saturday!

Keith and I took a break from our working madness this past week and took the boys to the Philadelphia Zoo this morning. We bought an annual pass, so we can head down there at any point and not feel like we have to see everything.

Cade slept in the stroller the entire Zoo visit. Kory liked looking at the different animals, but he was more interested in finding out if they had a spider exhibit (thanks spiderman!), which they didn't :(

In other news from our house.. I am really close to finishing my 7th or 8th (I've lost count at this point) edit in the past week and a half. I was backlogged on the edits because I took the month of May off.

My brain has been turning to mush the last couple of days, so I am very thankful for the upcoming break from the edits.

So how do I plan to use all my free time since I will now reclaim 30 hours???

I'll work on my house, which is a complete and embarrassing disaster! Oh, and I'll start working on a report for another client :)

Like my mom...

Once again I realize how much I am becoming like my mom.

I noticed today that my magazines-to-read pile is growing.

I'll have to put them in a bag to read on my next road trip... just like my mom does :)

Hamburgers

Why do I even go to McDonald's for supper? I always think it is a good idea, but then I stop at McDonalds to eat and wonder why. Instead of enjoying the burger, I end up comparing it to the hamburgers Keith and my dad make with MN beef!!!

Update on Thursday

Well I started the day overwhelmed but ending the day relaxed.

I was able to finish those two articles. Work on the next edit.

I still have editing to do tonight... but I know it will all get done.

The laundry is still unfolded on the couch.

But I was able to take the boys out for a walk and enjoy an ice pop on the porch with Kory... so it's fine the laundry is still on the couch :):

Thursday

I feel like there is so much to do today... Articles to write... Edits to finish.. .Laundry to fold... Dishes to wash... The list is endless today. But I keep on focusing on the Zoo trip we have planned on Saturday!

Balancing it all...

One of the blogs I follow, Freelance Writing Jobs, posted this wonderful article. It perfectly describes how I feel some days about trying to balance my freelance work with two kids.

Kory's Funny Comment.

Keith has the two boys right now while I am working on some edits, but I just had to take a break to post this :)

Cade was crying, and Keith was trying to get him to settle down.

When he wouldn't settle down, Kory said to his daddy...

"Maybe he doesn't like you."

Cade

Couple things about Cade...

- I looked at Kory's baby book. Cade is 2 inches longer than Kory was at this one-month point. Cade is about the same weight that Kory was at this point.

- For some reason, lately Cade has been napping better in his bouncy seat than in his crib or pack and play. Not sure why. But hey... whatever gets him to nap!

- I have to cross a couple more things off my eatting list while I nurse Cade :( No more fried food- nothing fried at all :( Add that too watching how much chocolate, how much caffeine, no broccoli, no garlic, nothing spicy :( What will I eat!!!!!

Random Things

I'm working on a bunch of editing because of the time I took off on a project in the month of May. I edit these transcripts for my client. It is part of a publishing process where he interviews successful business men and women. My part is to edit down the interviews from 8 - 10,000 words to 2,500 words. After I edit them, they go through more steps. Eventually, they are sent out on a weekly basis to my client's e-mail list of about 500 successful Internet business men and women.

I'm always learning new things from the interviews. Sometimes it is just ideas on how to run a successful business. Other times it is new products or services. So the interview this weekend I'm editing talks about Twitter. I found the concept of Twitter very fascinating. It is basically mini-blogging about random things.

So I added the CEO's Twitter account to my Google Reeder to follow her Twitter for a while to see what it all covers.

I think I need to go through my Google Feeder to pull out some blogs I don't really follow anymore or have time to follow. :)
