A little bit of Minnesota

We had an fun visit from Jess' parents at the beginning of April. Her brother and his wife even came up for a visit. I'll try to summarize our days with them. They always seem to go by so fast.

On Thursday the 2nd, the boys and I picked up grandma and grandpa from the airport and got settled in at home. Of course we had to stop for donuts to bring back :)

On Friday morning, Kory decided that since he was the first one up, he could have the last two donuts on the table. Oh the sugar rush! It was a rainy day on Friday so we stayed in for the morning and then all went up to Cabelas for a few hours to wander and shop. Kory was the most excited about seeing the elephant display.

On Saturday, we stayed home for most of the day. Mom and I worked on some spring cleaning while dad, Keith, and the boys worked outside. Mom, Cade, and I ended up going to explore a few shops in the area that afternoon. Saturday night, my brother and his wife came up to stay the night and into Sunday. How much fun to have us all together. But it made me realize how much I miss my sister and her family being with us too.

Saturday night around 10:30, my dad had a "brillant" idea. Let's watch a movie. So we all stayed up watching the latest Indiana Jones movie. I did end up snoozing through parts of it.

Sunday, we all decided to go explore Philadelphia. Even though we have lived in the area for almost 9 years, we hadn't gotten my parents down there for a visit. They usually come in the winter - which isn't the most ideal for exploring in Philly.

We started around the Liberty Bell - we didn't want to wait in line, so we looked through the glass.... Then we decided to explore on our own. We ended up walking for hours. It was so beautiful. Getting into residential areas and such. Just exploring together. We used our double jogging stroller for the first time so it was great for the boys (and for us)!

We had a late lunch at this little Italian restaurant on the edge of the Italian Market. It was very quiet inside. When Cade's food came, he was so excited he just started babbling at a very loud voice. It was quite comical and everyone in the small restaurant chuckled.

Then it was off for more exploring. We found a wonderful little Italian bakery and got some yummy things. We found a Starbucks to stop at and eat our dessert.

Then it was back to the car and home. We were all exhausted~

On Monday, we had a "pajama day" at the house with mom and dad and the boys (Keith had to go back to work). I think we ran a couple errands but I can't really remember.

Then on Tuesday morning, it was back to the airport to say good bye to Grandma and Grandpa.

As always, we enjoyed the visit with family and can't wait to get a little bit of Minnesota again.
