I just have to share this story about a toy making kit Kory got for his birthday.
Since getting the kit, Kory told his two friends that when he grows up he wants
to be a toy maker. He also said he wants to now make toys and sell them. According to Kory, the toys will be free for family and friends; only strangers have to pay for the toys.
Yesterday, Kory asked me for a box so he could create a toy stand to sell his (yet unmade) toys. At the time I didn't have a box so I told him he would have to wait.
Today, the toy-making conversation came back up in the car. When he asked again about a box, I asked him who he was going to sell the toys to since we don't get
much traffic at the end of our court. He replied he would have to think about that.
I also asked him how much he would charge for his toys. He took some time to think about the question and responded that superheros would be $1.00 and toy trucks would be 2 cents.
He must of thought on it all a bit more because later today he saw one of his friends and told her he was not going to sell toys. His reasons: it was going to rain and he wasn't sure how he would be able to find "customers" anyway.
I had to smile at his imagination and process of the elements. It also made me smile because as a second-generation self-employed household, it was just cute to start to see the entrepreneurial spirit in Kory!
We'll see what he says tomorrow about his (yet unmade) toys to sell.
