Let's see what's new with us...
Cade is active as ever. We expanded his area of play in the house with a couple new gates. Now he loves going through the kitchen. When he is hungry, he'll go to the pantry or even to the snack drawer. Right now he lives to pull out the applesauce containers - crazy since he hated it as a baby. He also likes to climb up on the chair to play with Kory's play-doh (of course after trying to taste it a few times). He also loves the box of little cars we brought down for him to play with.
A couple times this past week, he has come over to me, said "g-bye," waved, and tried to "climb" into a bigger car in the living room. It is still small so all he can do is get his foot in it. LOL. One day he also decided to take Keith's lunch bag for work when Keith got home. He picked it up, tried to put it on his shoulder, came over to give us kisses and said "g-bye." He turned, waved, and tried to walk out of the kitchen- just like Keith does every morning.
He is also bouncing quite a bit in his crib - I wonder when we might have to put up the toddler bed. It is so much fun watching him learn new things and just be a 15 month old.
Kory has been busy playing with the neighbor girl this summer. She is 6. It has turned into quite the summer of him starting to learn some "life lessons." They play really well together and hate to be apart. When we got back from vacation and they hadn't played for almost 2 weeks, he actually kissed her arm because he missed her. He's asked, "Can I marry her when we get bigger?" I told him we would have to wait to see.
Of course, they have also gotten each other into a little bit of trouble. They each say it is the other one's fault. Let's see... they squirted almost a whole bottle of sunscreen across our basement carpet. The basement smelled very tropical. Kory had to help me scrub it out - and he cried most of the time. It all cleaned up and Kory and his friend were playing again a couple days later.
Then the last couple of days they have been "sneaking" back over to her house when they are at our house playing. We've been trying to work with Kory that he can't just "disappear" but has to let us know where he is. Well today took the cake. They decided to go to her house - even though no one else was there. It gave me and her older sister - who was helping me at our house - quite a scare. It involved searching our house and their house, asking neighbors if they saw them, searching backyards, neighbors driving around the neighborhood and even a call to the police.
They did peak their head out on the third search of her house. They had been hiding the entire time. What a scare it was for us though because we didn't know where they were at all. Thank God for his protection! So needless to say, Kory is grounded for a few days to his room and devastated he can't play with his friend. We'll see how they do when they start playing again. :)
