June and July

I was starting to feel bad for not having updates on here so regularly - then I realized that if I'm not updating a lot, it just means we are busy enjoying life!

So I'll try to summarize this past month as much as possible.

The boys and I had a fun day trip to the Philadelphia Zoo with a friend and her kids. It was a riot! Five kids under the age of 5 and two moms! But it was so much fun and I enjoyed catching up with my friend who I hadn't seen for awhile.

Then there is the free Regal movies the boys and I have been going to during the week (well we have only made it to two so far and Cade only makes it through half the movie before I stand with him on the side).

Kory turned 5! Oh my goodness - 5!! He had a nice birthday party with friends and his nanny and papaw!

Cade had a double ear infection :(

My brother and his wife visited us for a weekend! And the boys got their own professional photo shoot with my brother - lights, music and all! They did great and I can't wait to order the photos.

Keith and I celebrated our 11th anniversary. What a milestone - and I would do it all over again :)

We also headed to Minnesota for about 10 days for a vacation with my family. Boating, swimming, fireworks, resting by the lake, sandboxes, playdates with mommy's friends and their kids, sleep over with an aunt and uncle and cousin, playing with a cousin, and having family photo shoots!

It was a nice vacation and I was so glad to be able to have Kory and Cade enjoy some of the things I remember about my childhood - cabin visits, outside fireworks, Minnesota thunderstorms - ha ha

We had a couple "bumps" along the road with having to have our "special" run-flat tire fixed 1 and 1/2 hours away. But it turned into an outing for just Keith and me. And Keith and I had an evening and whole night to ourselves- been forever since that!

The boys loved the fireworks on the 4th - I told Kory we were watching an outside movie called Fireworks. The funny part was the neighbors had the expensive fireworks, but Kory thought they were ours and kept on yelling "Good job, Uncle Chris."

Kory was also cute on our drive out. We stopped at a Holiday Inn Express for the night. The next morning, Kory got us each a cup of water and a cinnamon roll (with his hands). He was so proud of getting us each breakfast. It was so adorable.

Cade had fun running all over and he and I had to climb the big playsets and go down the slides together at the park.

Keith fished and helped my dad get doors and trim out of the old school - the elementary school I went to was being torn down and auctioned off stuff. He also got to relax as well.

We also took the boys to the new transformers movie. Well - Keith and Kory enjoyed it. I ended up out in the van with Cade because he started to tell everyone "hi" in the theater and was wearing me out running up and down the hallways of the theater. On a comical note, I did randomly run into a friend who was out walking with her 1 year old. It was nice to chat with her for a bit.

We also got to enjoy parts of my hometown's activities. There was a Whopper Feed! Yummy! And entertainment at the park by the lake in town. But we ended up leaving before the fireworks because it started downpouring and the boys were drenched.

Talking about storms. I wanted to see some roll in while I was home. I love watching them come across the open prairie. But I also remembered how I hate to drive in them. I was taking the boys to my sisters and ended up right in the middle of a storm. It was not fun driving fast on gravel roads while keeping an eye on the clouds about me. It became quite windy and I was very thankful it was just a storm.

Well I think that about summarizes things from the past month. Our July will keep us busy as well and then a trip to Keith's family in August.

I used to think things would slow down. Now I am just determined to enjoy each moment because I don't think they will ever slow down! :)
