Before you read this further, please make sure you have tissues nearby. I'm really serious. This isn't a joke at all :)
I'm sure all of you have heard me talk at one point about our friends, Bobby and Jodi.
Well, they are running in March in the Shamrock Marathon in Virginia Beach.
They have talked with us and they have decided to run the marathon in honor of Aidan. And in part of that, the four of us are going to be working with a related-charity to raise funds in honor of Aidan. We're in the process of making some phone calls and making some decisions about that.
I guess I wanted to make you all aware first because I know Aidan is so much a part of your life as well.
We're also starting a blog called http://run4aidan.blogspot.com/ In our blog, Keith and I and Bobby and Jodi will be updating on the marathon process both physically, emotionally, etc. As well as were this is all leading. The blog is up and Jodi and I have already posted to it.
Recently Keith and I have been thinking alot of Aidan. A lot more than usual. It is hard to believe he would be 6 in December.
With the blog and facebook, we will probably be sharing things beyond what we typically do. And that is okay. Both Keith and I have talked about this and are in agreement. Nothing is moving forward with this unless Keith and I are in agreement - and we are.
I was talking with a lady I know about Aidan. And she said to me, your ministry is to the people who are going through similar things. So maybe with all of this, we can "minister" by raising funds for research, for support, for whatever the organization we choose needs. We may be able to post something on the blog that helps someone coping with the same thing. God only knows where this all is leading.
So anyway, I just wanted to share this with you all first before it goes out into the "internet" world. I know this is very much not like us - we are usually very private about this. But I guess we both feel now is the time to share.
Thank you all for keeping Aidan alive in your memories, in your discussions, in your heart.
We love you all! And thank you Bobby and Jodi - we are so honored and we will be waiting on the other side of that finish line in VA Beach!
Love,
Keith, Jessica, Kory and Cade

Oh Jess! Seeing your face on the other side of the finish line will be my motivation during my run. I know how honored you feel and that will keep me going! I love you!
