My mom and I have an agreement. Actually it is an agreement with my family. We don't send cards for "Hallmark" holidays. Thanks mom for that marketing lesson in life :) Yet I always feel bad for not sending my mom something for Mother's Day.
So today, I was browsing some articles online. I came across this article from Business Week about the impact of mothers on businesses.
The article made me think of all the times that I helped mom make sure that column A plus column C equaled Column H in the big ledger book. And now as I try to balance the "columns" for my own freelance writing, my household, and Keith's company, those early lessons in small business have come into play more frequently. Even now, when mom was out here for three weeks, we were able to bounce ideas off of each other to grow our companies.
This year for Mother's Day, mom... thank you for teaching me all the "small business" things you have and continue to teach me.
