It's me and my boys... a wonderful husband and two very active boys. My days are filled with super heroes, sports, video games, and time in the sandbox.

But I can't see you...
The boys and I were on a walk one afternoon. It was a daily occurrence for my then 5-year-old and 1- year-old. Two active boys confined in a double stroller. The walks ended when they were more interested in walking with me and slowing my pace.
I distinctly remember one day we went for a walk. The boys were snuggled in the double stroller. I was ready to make record time.
My 5-year-old, Kory, started to panic. He and I had been on this path for years. Only in the past year had his brother, Cade, joined us on our walks. Same sidewalk. Same bumps. Same stop signs. Same neighborhood. Yet he panicked.
Kory: Mommy, we are going to get lost.
Me: No Kory, I know where we are going.
Kory: But Mommy, I don't know where we are going.
Me: It's okay Kory. I know the way there and back. Don't worry.
Kory: But Mommy, I can't see you.
Me: It's okay Kory. You can hear my voice, right?
Kory: Yes, but I can't see you.
Me: But I am right here, and I know exactly where we are going. You'll be okay.
It hit me. Right then I choked up on tears. I stopped and listened to that little voice.
Aren't we like that with God? How many times do we panic because we don't know where we are going? How many times do we cover the same sidewalks, the same neighborhoods, see the same stop (and go) signs He shows us? How many times are we worried because we simply can't see what He sees.
Yet we can trust Him. He is always there. He's guiding our "stroller" in the right direction. He's making sure we avoiding the bumps we can't see while we are sitting in the stroller and watching things go by - like my boys do. He is always there and always knows the right direction.
"I know exactly where we are going. You'll be okay," is what I told Kory. And you too will be okay. He knows exactly where you are going.
Just sit back snuggled in your stroller and enjoy the ride.

Wow! I think I'm gonna have to print that one out!
Very powerful thoughts, Jess!
Thanks!
Jill :-)
Isn't it great how God uses the smallest among us to remind us gently that He's there? Thanks for sharing.
