Generations and Prayers

Sometimes I wake up with deep thoughts. Sometimes I forget what they are. But this thought has stuck with me this morning.

When Kory curled up next to me this morning, I thought about how important it is for me to pray for him. Then I thought of some of his friends who may not have those same type of prayers being said.

That made me think of how fortunate Keith and I have been to have generations praying for us. I mean not only have our parents prayed for us from when we were little, but we've also had grandparents who have prayed for us.

It would be interesting to know what some of those prayers have been over the years. Or maybe it is better we don't know. But I know there had to be many times that Keith and I made decisions that were impacted by those prayers. What decisions or choices would we have made if someone in our family hadn't been praying for us for wisdom, guidance, protection, or just coming to our senses :)

So again I thought of some of Kory's friends who don't have those generations praying for them. So I guess my new goal or focus is not only to keep my children in prayer but also their friends. And maybe someday they will make choices or decisions impacted by my prayers without them even realizing it.

Thanks for letting me share this deep thought with you this morning.

Wow!!! What more can you say!
I have also been blessed by prayers from previous generations. It really does make you realize what an important role we play in "our" kids lives now. Thanks for reminding us of that!!!!
